Sailing/boating background:

Learned to sail on the Chesapeake Bay some 50 years ago.  Worked weekends, holidays, and summers aboard his father and grandfather's commercial fishing boats.  Some recent notable cruises include a 1989 sailing trip from Bristol, RI to Block Island for several days on the Pearson 36.5' cutter "Nightwind", a 7 day sailing trip on a 41.5' Morgan OI Ketch out of Treasure Harbor in the Florida Keys in 1991.  Skipper on a 10-day bareboat cruise on the Hunter 40' sloop Eva out of Coconut Grove, Florida to the Abacos in 1994.  Has also served as crew and navigator in 1994 and '96 on the 53' Canoe Cove diesel powered motoryacht "Gabrielle" out of Anacortes, Washington through the San Juan's and on to Victoria and Sidney, Vancouver Island, BC.  Served as crew and navigator and fleet captain on the 35' Island Packet Cat  "Brac Cat" for a 5-day, 5-boat Chesapeake Bay cruise out of Rock Hall, Maryland in 1995.  In June 1997 served as navigator for a 10-day cruise aboard the Catalina 42' Morning Star out of Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau and Allen's Cay in the Bahamas.  In 1998 did a yacht delivery of the Pearson 36.5 cutter Nightwind from Bristol, RI to Camden, Maine for ten days.  

Has owned a Catalina 25, Capri 22, and now co-owner of the Catalina 30 FK, TR, sloop "Enya" at Little River Marina, Lake Thunderbird for the past 6 years.  Spends most weekends aboard the "Enya" during the spring, summer, and fall.

Has served as primary instructor, assistant, or mentor for many of the sailing classes held over the past four years at the Lake Thunderbird BoatHouse.

Credentials:  
Up-to-date Red Cross first-aid with adult and child CPR 
Certified United States Sailing Association Level One small boat instructor
Holds U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton captain's license with towing and auxiliary sailing endorsements.
Certified sailing instructor for the American Red Cross
Holds Junior Navigator credential and senior member of the United States Power Squadron
