Haines. Age, 67 years. Career, university prof, now retired.
I
learned sailing in dinghies and daysailors as a highschooler. Beginning
with college and extending to 1979, sailing was put aside in favor of
family and career, but, since, has become my favorite leisure activity.
Competitive sailing, first with a Santana 20 and now with a J-22, is my
primary sailing interest. In May 1998 I became certified as a US
Sailing/American Red Cross Instructor qualified to teach beginning sailing.
As principal instructor I've had the priviledge and satisfaction of
teaching some ten classes of adults and juniors.
