CLASSES

Basic sailing class for adults (at least 14 years of age) is a course taught from "Start Sailing Right", a US Sailing Association text for their course and can lead to certification from US Sailing Association. We offer two types, one in centerboards, small sailboats with retractable "keels", and one that emphasizes keelboats, boats up to 25' with fixed keels. The cost is $150 per student. Students are required to have a Coast Guard approved PFD (personal flotation device). 

We also offer a keelboat course that leads to certification in handling larger sailboats. This course is the next certification course through US Sailing Association. The cost of this course is $250.

They require that students can swim 50 yards and have a Coast Guard-approved PFD. For more information on Sailing Smart classes for youths which are in the form of a summer camp.  Adult Dinghy Class: Ages 14 up, $150. Each class day is composed of didactic presentations and on the water training. Dinghies are small boats like Sunfish, Laser, etc. but 2-man centerboards are available for students wanting that type training.  Keel Boat Class: Ages 14 up, no sailing knowledge required, $250. Taught on smaller keel boats, leads to US Sailing certification. Level-1 Instructors Class: This course teaches how to teach and requires demonstation of sailing ability. Leads to US Sailing certification for teaching small boat sailing. $300.
